The Observer reminds us about Brian Ezratty, the broker who sold the Ed Sullivan Theater to CBS in 1993, paving the way for Times Square's revival. The theater was "pretty disgusting" when Ezratty, who had been specializing in parking garages, first began to market it. But he convinced CBS to buy it for David Letterman anyway, keeping Letterman in New York and changing the face of Times Square forever and ever, amen. [NYO]
