Rendering/Reality: 38 Delancey Unveiled

New, 15 comments

We've been following the Lower East Side's new 20-story terror ever since steel began to rise in 2007, but the building has long been under wraps. Bowery Boogie has photos of the unveiling, an anticipated moment at Curbed HQ, if only because we've wondered if the 54-unit condo project (with three floors of commercial space in the base) could live up to the soul-crushing blandness of its initial rendering. Did it?

Dare we say that for the second time in a row, reality trumps rendering? As for any sort of sales/marketing kick-off for 38 Delancey, that's a mystery. But it's still a bit early in the game, given the lack of glass. But still, any intel out there?
