As its innards get auctioned off, the NYT's Diner's Journal blog lets us know just how deep the dismantling of Tavern on the Green is getting. Yesterday a judge ruled that 3,800-square-feet of rare chestnut paneling could be ripped off the walls and auctioned to pay off the local landmark's creditors, against the city's wishes. The judge stopped short of allowing the LeRoy family to sell the steel frame of the restaurant's iconic canopy. [Diner's Journal]
