The Post's Max Gross assesses the state of the Downtown Brooklyn/Fort Greene development boom, and of course that discussion has to be dominated by talk of the new luxury rental high-rises adding thousands of apartments to the area, seemingly all at once. At tallest-building-in-the-borough The Brooklyner, incentives bring the rents on the cheaper units all the way down to $1,450/month for studios and $1,900/month for 1BRs (Zazza style!). Over 90 units were leased in the first month. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Eagle checks in on fellow newcomer Avalon Fort Greene, and reports 176 leases signed in about four months (out of 631 total units). Rentals: So hot right now! [NYP; BK Eagle]
