Midtown's Setai: Towering Ode to Proper Dental Hygiene?

New, 1 comment

According to a heaping dose of archibabble on the building's StreetEasy page, here's the deal with the top of the new 57-story Setai condo/hotel at 400 Fifth Avenue, designed by Gwathmey Siegel: "Capping the tower, inclined planes of linen finished stainless steal, inserted between the masonry columns and designed to conceal mechanical equipment, are lit from a concealed source and act as large scale reflectors form a luminous crown. The crown establishes the identity of the building as a unique address, another distinctive tower in the New York City skyline." According to blogger Restless, here's the deal witht he top of the new 57-story Setai condo/hotel at 400 Fifth Avenue, designed by Gwathmey Siegel: It looks like a giant toothbrush. Both compelling arguments.
