Dev House's Itty Bitty Package; City's Commishes Switch Places

New, 2 comments

CENTRAL VILLAGE?We've already outed ourselves as staunch supporters of the Devonshire House condo conversion and its Victoria Hagan-designed apartments, but there's just something weird about pre-war grandeur in an 800-square-foot package. The thought came to us while checking out the photos of the Dev's new one-bedroom model unit, seen in the building's 1BR listings like this one. Apparently not everyone is weirded out, though: Six of the 11 available one-bedroom units are in contract, we're told, at prices starting at $1.05 million. Attack of the wealthy foreign buyers? BIZARRO NYC?In order to spur new ideas on "customer service, staff communication, interagency collaboration, and innovation," the deputy commissioners of all the city's agencies are swapping jobs for three weeks, starting today. There are some interesting switches, like the Landmarks Preservation Commission's Bob Tierney taking over the Department of Buildings, and the creative and controversial Janette Sadik-Khan (of the Department of Transportation) moving in on the bunker-busting DDC. Still angry about the DOT's new bike lanes and the Times Square pedestrian plaza? Lobby the new guy in charge! Here's the full rundown of the swaps. UPDATE: OK, so it's "executive commissioners," not commissioners commissioners (a la Tierney and Kahn). Boring! [CurbedWire Inbox]
