FIDI?As previously reported, several Financial District blocks were closed today due to falling debris, including from the under-construction 76-story Beekman Tower. A tipster sent in some scenes. Speaking of the Beekman, the Broadsheet Daily spoke with a guy whose car was impaled by a 10-inch turnbuckle that allegedly fell from the building?while he was in the front seat. He might not be feeling Frank Gehry's skyscraper anymore: "I am not somebody who is automatically against the idea of large buildings. I'm beginning to think this tower is too tall for the neighborhood in which it's located. We have very narrow streets here, with a lot of people living nearby." [CurbedWire; Broadsheet]
