The time when new condo buildings start filling with tenants is usually the point we start losing interest, but not at LIC's Vere. The Robert Scarano-designed mountain of glass on Jackson Avenue is shooting for fairly strong prices despite a location some would deem lacking, and at last check it seemed to be getting them. The chatter amongst the StreetEasy crowd lately is whether or not the sales team is willing to negotiate (early indication: maybe), and there now seems to be more listings than there are units in the building. Wacky!
Around a dozen units have closed, and asking prices currently range from $380k to $1.25 million for a 2,000-square-foot penthouse. One buyer has put a unit up for rent: a two-bed, two-bath apartment with a big private terrace. The price is $4,000 per month, and the listing gives us our first look inside the building.
