Averting A Brownstone Bloodbath

A pair of Bed-Stuy brownstones scheduled for demolition last week might not face the wrecking ball after all. The owner of one of the buildings and a resident are suing to stop the demolition, arguing that the buildings?where construction workers caused the collapse of a load-bearing wall?could be preserved, or at least that the facades could be saved. Otherwise, the demolition of the damaged 329 and 331 MacDonough Street could make it necessary to take down 333 and 327 MacDonough as well. Brownstone dominos! [BK Eagle; previously]
