One of the groups lobbying against a 9/11 terror trial in the Lower Manhattan is the real industry, the Observer reports, under the argument that security concerns "will turn Lower Manhattan into a commercial kind of no man's land, not unlike the months after 9/11." Much ado about nothing? Eliot Brown writes, "The soft perimeter will indeed allow traffic through, with periodic searches, and the area mostly encompasses government-occupied buildings, the tenants for which aren't going anywhere." Meanwhile, with Governors Island out as a potential trial location, the Tribeca Trib reports CB1 is proposing other sites outside the boroughs. [NYO]
