Just as we were starting to calm down after the opening of the Upper West Side Apple store, our friends at Racked report a new potential Apple store concept: trees! Apple wants to create stores that are more like "knowledge centers" and community gathering places, and we guess maybe some people think "tree" when they see the word "knowledge." The first of these bringin'-the-outdoors-in stores (the trees will be live, fed by sunlight through the glass ceilings) is set to open in Palo Alto, but since the designers of the Fifth Avenue cube are behind the concept, New York could be next.
