The historic New York City Marble Cemetery off Second Street in the East Village has had an eventful 24 hours: First the gates were unlatched for Open House New York, and then cops were called in to handle a C-4 explosives scare. Something tells us the found sticks of military-grade explosive are not original design elements of the 1831 burial ground, so the culprit will have the cops and the Landmarks Preservation Commission to answer to.
