This week's top dish from Eater NY, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...
1) Chelsea: What do you get when the "visual futurist" behind sci-fi flicks like Blade Runner designs a Spanish restaurant in a modern new hotel? Something like the trippy Bar Basque (above). Open the pod bay doors, HAL.
2) Nolita: An apparently disgruntled employee let some highly personal graffiti on the front of Village Tart, which mysteriously closed over a month ago. Looks like some accounts need to be settled.
3) Williamsburg: The days of PBR and ironic 40-ounce Colt 45s are in Williamsburg's rear-view mirror. The neighborhood now has Brooklyn Winery, where folks can participate in making their own barrel of wine. Cost: $6,000.
4) Gowanus: The "Who Goes There?" column heads to the shores of the mighty Gowanus Canal, where old-school Italian joint Two Toms awaits. "The decor—if you could call it that—is equal parts social club, American Legion hall and grandpa's rec room."
