It's Almost Gift-giving Season

If you're like us and have a total obsession with New York history, the Times just put together a list of rare books that you can drop some heavy hints about to your loved ones. The bargain shopper can pick up a copy of "The Golden City" by Henry Hope Read Jr. for $30, and on the other end of the spectrum you can get the six-volume "The Iconography of Manhattan Island" for a hefty $9,000.
