MIDTOWN?From the Department of Redundancy Department, here's Mayor Bloomberg and Governor Paterson at the Moynihan Station ceremonial groundbreaking today outside the Farley Post Office and a backdrop photo of,uh, the Farley Post Office. [Twitpic]

LOWER EAST SIDE?Talk of Basketball City taking over Pier 36 on the East River just north of the Manhattan Bridge has been circulating since 2006, outraging locals who'd like to see the city-owned facility (formerly occupied by the Office of Emergency Management) used for something other than a for-profit recreation facility. But it looks like the deal is finally sealed. Today NYC's Economic Development Corporation announced the closing of nearly $13 million in New Markets Tax Credits for Basketball City, which is expected to open in summer 2011. There will be publicly accessible space, and 50 full-time jobs targeted to low-income residents of the area. Slam dunk? [CurbedWire Inbox]

TV LAND?More details on the second season of HGTV's Selling New York, which will add brokers from Warburg Realty into the mix. Specifically, Lisa Chajet, Deborah Lupard, Leslie Modell Rosenthal and Richard Steinberg, along with the brokerage's president, Frederick Peters. Can we get at least one intense Richard Steinberg-Michele Kleier staredown session on the Park Avenue sidewalk, HGTV? [CurbedWire Inbox]
