No Foreclosure Yet, But Stuy Town Woodstock is Taking Resys

For the third time, the foreclosure auction of Stuyvesant Town/Peter Cooper Village—in which special servicer CW Capital is expected to take control of the forlorn rental megacomplex?has been delayed. (It's now scheduled for October 29, so let anarchy reign!) Despite the delays, residents are still looking ahead to the next stage of Stuyvesant Town, a future that's expected to include a condo/co-op conversion with cheap prices for existing tenants. There are still all sorts of unanswered questions regarding the complex's fate, and so the Tenants Association has organized an event that started out as a simple meeting but is quickly shaping up to be Stuy Town's very own Woodstock.

But don't expect free love and a kick-ass version of the Star-Spangled Banner. Stuy Town Woodstock, going down October 30 at Baruch College, will probably be a more restrained affair with a slightly higher average attendee age than the Woodstock of '69, but the lineup is no less exciting. Lawyers! Advisors! Politicians! This is going to be a blockbuster, and the Tenants Association knows it, which is why reservations are recommended for seats. Remember folks, stay away from the brown acid.
