Apthorp Reopening in November; New Queens Landmarks Named

New, 3 comments

UPPER WEST SIDE?After a messy breakup with superbroker Dolly Lenz, the Apthorp has officially named Corcoran Sunshine as the landmark condo conversion's new sales and marketing agent. Sales will resume in November, with "a sound, experienced management team, an effective condominium plan, and a fortified financial structure that will allow us to accelerate the completion of the capital improvements and restorations," according to a statement. RIDGEWOOD, JAMAICA?As mentioned yesterday, it's Queens Day at the Landmarks Preservation Commission, with approved designations for the 210-building Ridgewood South Historic District (bordered by Woodward and Onderdonk Avenues to the north and south, and Catalpa Avenue and Woodbine Street to the east and west), as well as four buildings in Jamaica (City Room has more on those). Hearings were held on other buildings and districts that, if approved, would increase the number of landmark properties in Queens by 40 percent, from 2,700 to 3,800. [CurbedWire Inbox/City Room]
