The state's Court of Appeals upheld the use of eminent domain to seize land for Columbia University's expansion in Manhattanville, but State Senator Bill Perkins is not on board. He's filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court arguing that Columbia's land seizure is an abuse of eminent domain and doesn't follow the Supreme Court's 2005 Connecticut eminent domain ruling.
