When we think Downtown Brooklyn, we think new condos, stalled condos, and even hipster bed-and-breakfasts. We don't think historic district. But perhaps we should! The Post reports that the Landmarks Preservation Commission is considering a Borough Hall Skyscraper Historic District, which would include 20 buildings along Court Street and half a block into DoBro and Brooklyn Heights. The criteria?"architecturally distinguished business buildings"?brings in Borough Hall (right) and the Municipal Building. But if this new district is going to have "skyscraper" in the name, shouldn't Toren and the Brooklyner be included, too?
