After running tests for over a year, the Parks Department has decided to use textured concrete to patch up Brooklyn's rotting 42-block Riegelmann Boardwalk, but the locals are screaming, "Fuhgeddaboutit!" The concrete is cheaper and easier to maintain than plastic lumber or real wood, but a concrete boardwalk? Lame. The part running through the Coney Island amusement area will still be wood, so Brighton Beachers can get their old-timey kicks over there. [NYDN]
