Anyone who lives close to 70 Baruch Drive on the Lower East Side is probably familiar with a broken pipe which has been filling the streets with sewage for the past few months. One of the residents says "Everybody's toilet backs up in the front of the building, you have toilet paper, you have excrement, you have all kinds of stuff coming out the front of the building, it's ridiculous" and it's particularly an issue because children play close by. The problem appeared to have been fixed some time back but the sewage keeps flowing. [NY1]
