Big Gears Keep on Turnin' at LIC's New Industry

New, 8 comments

Now open for business and entering the final phase of construction, Long Island City's The Industry just had us over for a sneak peek inside the building, where two units are already in contract. The 76-unit building off Court Square (wave at the Citi building workers!), made up of studio-3BR condos, is the first residential development from the owners of the nearby Silvercup Studios complex. The details are on the website and in our recent Development Du Jour item on the building, but just to refresh your memory, prices start at $390,000 (and at around $770k for a 2BR) and go up to $1.2 million. "There's no doubt these homes will be sold at a quick pace," Elliman's Karen Mansour told us.

Units in the GreenbergFarrow-designed building feature high-end touches like white oak floors, kitchens manufactured in Italy and Carrera marble countertops in the bathrooms. Amenities include a doorman, gym, on-site parking and landscaped roof deck with sweeping views Manhattan. Occupancy is expected around the beginning of 2011. It's a crowded condo scene in LIC, but there's always room for burgeoning industry, right
