The AIA Guide to New York actually liked this building on Court Street, or at least described it neutrally enough as "a brownstone bracketed Italianate corner villa." Now, Lost City notes, it's bracketed by something else: that giant silver steam pipe that's apparently needed by whatever's coming into the ground-floor space. Is there a robot somewhere missing its arm?
