Standard Beer Garden Now Year-Round; Rules for Dark Dining

New, 1 comment

This week's top dish from Eater NY, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

1) MePa: Fans of The Standard's beer garden won't have to leave the premises when the weather cools. The hotel has put up a new enclosure around the space, with heat lamps, for year-round fun.

2) Tribeca: Dark dining restaurant Dans Le Noir is hoping to open at 56 Franklin Street. The restaurant recently shared some of its plans with Community Board 1: diners will enter the restaurant via a conga line after checking all objects with lights in lockers, each diner may only drink half a bottle of wine, and all staff members know where to find the panic buttons. Sounds relaxing!

3) Flatiron: The John Dory Oyster Bar is open as of today in the Ace Hotel. One feature of the decor that wasn't obvious from the illustrations: subway tiles.

4) Australia: East Village restaurant mini-empire Momofuku is opening a new branch...in a casino in Sydney, Australia.
