Inside Brooklyn's Highest Apartment, Asking $7,500 Per Month

New, 24 comments

Downtown Brooklyn skyscraper The Brooklyner, which surpassed the condo-converted old Williamsburgh Bank Building as the borough's tallest tower on its way to becoming quite the hot topic, just unveiled it's most prized possession. There is but one apartment on the rental's 51st floor, which is also the only three-bedroom unit in the building, and it's asking $7,500 per month. That's more than double the price of the next highest-priced apartment in the Lawrence Street behemoth, according to StreetEasy. The apartment is 1,500 square feet and comes with a 585-square-foot private terrace and all your favorite Brooklyner touches, like concierge service, big gym, bigger residents' lounge and, of course, the infamous dog shower and Skee-Ball machines. We'd also point out the rooftop "beach," but the views are amazing enough from the private terrace (outdoor shower alert!) that this tenant won't need to fraternize with the neighbors.

We were up in the penthouse yesterday to have a look around, results seen above. The apartment is all modeled up right now, but will be rented unfurnished. There was also some sort of fashion shoot going on, so the first two photos in the gallery were provided by the building so that we could show the space off minus the clutter. We didn't take a picture of the runway model hanging around tapping away on her BlackBerry because we didn't want to get invoiced by her agency. Here's the penthouse floorplan:
