Williamsburg Ghost 111 Kent Comes Back from the Dead

New, 3 comments

We might finally be able to take down the wanted posters for one of Williamsburg's most notorious missing buildings, 111 Kent. It's hardly been seen since the summer of 2009, but maybe it didn't want to miss the party at neighbors Edge and Northside Piers. Brownstoner noticed that the project changed hands last week, selling to the Garrison Investment Group for $43,635,540.69. Which seems like a particularly mind-blowing sum for a project that's not close to done. Originally, it was planned as a collection of $575,000 to $2.5 million units, but we heard a rumor a few months ago that the place would go rental once construction was done. At the time there didn't seem to be enough progress at the site to mention it, but hey, times change!
