In what must come as a surprise to everyone born yesterday, the construction industry might be running afoul of the law! The latest investigation centers around whether two big firms, Schiavone Construction Co. and Skanska USA, set up front companies to skirt minority hiring requirements. The firms allegedly did this while working on MTA megaprojects like the Fulton Street transit hub and Second Avenue subway. If convicted, the companies face 20 years of no repercussions whatsoever.
