As the season of jack-o'-lanterns and pumpkin pie rolls to an end, Washington Heights' somewhat oddly named Pumpkin House?so called because its odd window pattern resembles a jack-o'-lantern?has returned to the market. The owner, decorator William Spink, paid $1.1 million for the house in 2000, according to the Journal, but the experience of fixing the roof and facade cured him of any desire to live in a house rather than an apartment building. Perhaps his experience is off-putting to others as well, because the 16 Chittenden Avenue house failed to sell when it was asking $3.45 million in 2005. This time, the place is listed for $3.9 million. Trick or treat?
