Not everyone thinks the NYC Marathon is a pain in the ass. Like the folks who sell us our condos. They see it as a perfect marketing opportunity! The building boom has pushed luxury development all the way out along the marathon route, so a few new buildings have decided to take advantage of their close proximity to the sweaty masses. East Harlem's Robert A.M. Stern-designed 1280 Fifth Avenue and Long Island City's not Robert A.M. Stern-designed L Haus and Hunters View are all holding marathon viewing parties that double as open houses. And 1280 Fifth and Hunters View even put up some motivational signage for Sunday's race (above). But how about some discounts for marathon participants? That Chilean miner guy is used to confined spaces so he'd probably love a New York City apartment.
