City Hall's New Stiffs; Designers Compete at 99 John

CITY HALL?You can't stick a shovel into the dirt in this town without hitting a few bodies. There's even a guy whose job it is to keep track. Yesterday, Landmarks Preservation Commission big boss Bob Tierney was joined by three members of the city's religious community in City Hall Park to reinter fragmentary remains that were found over the past 17 years during construction projects in the area. How they resisted punctuating that plaque with Rest in pieces! we'll never know. [CurbedWire Inbox]

FIDI?We all love reality competition shows like Top Design (right!?), so it was only a matter of time for the genre's tendencies to make their way into the cutthroat world of Manhattan condo marketing. At 99 John Deco Lofts, developer TF Cornerstone is giving three young designers four weeks and $5,000 to decorate a model apartment. The designers will document the process in Flip Cam videos posted to the 99 John Facebook page, and the public will vote on a winner. That top designer, announced on December 2, gets a $5,000 prize. The losers will be kicked out of the tribe. [CurbedWire Inbox]
