The Daily News has an "Eyesore Next Door" series in which the paper looks into decrepit buildings, like this one at 270 Eckford Street in Greenpoint. How do building get into such bad shape? We're guessing many eyesores next door will have amusing mixups like this: "Officials recorded the wrong deed in 2006 - listing three new owners who supposedly purchased the house. In fact, they bought a different lot nearby. The actual owner, Vincent Mcmail, hasn't paid property taxes since October 2004 - and then stopped receiving the bills because of the filing error."
