Village Pen and Brush Collection Now Asking $14.9 Million

For 85 years, women in the arts were able to join the Village's Pen & Brush club for a mere $60 per year. But when your home is an 8,475-square-foot townhouse built in 1848, $60 doesn't go a long way, so the house hit the market in 2008 asking $13.525 million. No buyer took an interest, and the house came off the market in February 2009. Now it's back, and the Pen and Brush club, at least, thinks the market is improving, because the new ask is $14.9 million. Tough choice: get the house and its 11 marble fireplaces or put the money toward a lifetime supply of pens and brushes?
