Empty Williamsburg Lot Will Be Home to New Movie Theater

New, 18 comments

Hey, Williamsburg, you know that movie theater you've been waiting for in a new condo project on Metropolitan Avenue? No, it's not open yet, and won't be until 2011, thanks to a developer switch. But what will be screening films by next fall, joining Kent Avenue's recently-opened IndieScreen Cinema, is a $9.3 million movie theater (fine, we'll stop questioning the ticket prices) on the corner of Driggs Avenue and Grand Street. The six-screen theater, rendered at right, will have stadium seating, according to The Brooklyn Paper, and will show "first-run feature films." And it should be open just in time for the next Twilight installment!
