Big Moves

Unlike pretty much everyone who lives in it, the city is in the position of having too much real estate. Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith told the Real Estate Board of New York yesterday that the city's hoping to downsize its holdings by as much as 1 million square feet. While he's at it, Goldsmith also wants to eliminate the "difficult to watch" tensions between the Department of Buildings and the real estate industry. Sounds like a New Year's resolution in the making! [NYP]
