Fashion Designers Give Up on Great Downsizing Experiment

New, 5 comments

It was kind of awesome when fashion designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka, of fancy fashion label Badgley Mischka, gave up a 2,000-square-foot Greenwich Village duplex for a 546-square-foot studio in Midtown. Their logic, if we dare apply the term, was to be closer to La Guardia airport for quick flights to their weekend horse farm in Kentucky. But perhaps the charm wore off, because Badgley and Mischka have just resold their 100 West 39th Street studio, in which they used fashion design principles to create a spacious feel, for $625,000, a loss from the $661,862 they paid for it in 2006. Sadly, the horse sculpture and reindeer ferns have already been cleansed from the listings pics.
