Preservation Watch

There's another reason why Village preservationist Andrew Berman is pissed at NYU, and it has nothing to do with the school's expansion plan. According to Berman, NYU has broken another Provincetown Playhouse promise. The old end pieces of the chairs were supposed to be fastened to the new seating, but reportedly the seat ends are sequestered in a "display area." NYU was also supposed to preserve the original four walls of the theater, but we know how that turned out. SeatGate!!! [The Villager]
