DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN?Riding hot on the heels of Shake Shack, the city is doing its part to add to Downtown Brooklyn's retail transformation. A Request for Proposals went out today seeking a developer or business to buy or lease a 37,000-square-foot chunk of the Brooklyn Municipal Building. The ground- and second-floor space at 210 Joralemon Street is currently occupied by the boring Department of Finance. A Zara would look so much better! At least that's what the NYC Economic Development Corporation's rendering makes us believe. [CurbedWire Inbox]
UPPER WEST SIDE?The joyful holiday season is off to a rocky start at The Copley condominium at 2000 Broadway. There, a Curbed tipster reports that a burst water pipe today necessitated shutting off the building's heating system. Making things worse, The Copley's handyman injured his leg on Saturday, and The Copley's managing agent, Cooper Square, alerted the building only last month that it would cease to manage the building starting on December 1, so the live-in super was gone, too. Don't worry, Copley, Santa is coming soon. Let's hope his elves know how to fabricate piping. [CurbedWire Inbox]
