Vantage Owes $1 Million

Not long after Attorney General Andrew Cuomo threatened to sue Vantage Porperties for harrassing tenants, Cuomo and Vantage have settled, the Observer reports. Vantage, long accused of harassing rent-stabilized tenants, has to stop evicting them. The company will also have to cough up $1 million, some to settle tenant claims and some for non-profits that protect renters. Symbolic, but compared to the $2 billion Vantage paid for buildings in Queens, Washington Heights, and Harlem at the height of the market, a $1 million slap on the wrist probably doesn't sting much.
