Toll Brothers Not Feeling Super

New, 5 comments

Bob Toll had a chat with the New York Times over the weekend, and the Toll Brothers CEO stuck to his guns on the proposed federal cleanup of the Gowanus Canal. If the "Lavender Lake" gets labeled a Superfund site, then the developer's big mixed-use project on the banks of the canal is doneski: "We want to do something like 500 units, and a quarter of the square feet will be for low and moderate, and we had envisioned a neat-looking community over the canal — unless you label it a toxic waste dump." But who needs the feds to tell us that the canal is a toxic dump? It's got STDs, for cryin' out loud! [NYT]
