The Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village Tenants Association is reportedly prepping a bid to buy the foreclosed complex, but Mayor Bloomberg is telling the group not to count on city-backed financing or favors: "That's not what we're here to do. We want to make sure that whomever does take it over has a profitable deal." City councilman and Peter Cooper resident Dan Garodnick is telling the mayor he "should not underestimate what the city can do." That's true! It's not like the city has shied away from throwing millions at weird real estate deals. [NYDN]
