Killing 1280 Fifth's Buzz

New, 1 comment

The Museum of African Art has spent 25 years waiting for a permanent home at 110th Street, and it's finally getting one, along with 115 luxury condos designed by Robert A.M. Stern. But know who's not pleased? The neighbors. They say, DNAinfo reports, that construction at 1280 Fifth Avenue is leading to cracks in the walls, a crumbling facade, and damaged floor tiles at 8 East 110th Street. And that's on top of the fact that the project occupies what was once 8 East 110th's community garden. Developer Brickman has already agreed to arrange for repairs, but it sounds like the wound festers. [DNAinfo; previously]
