Blockbuster Tribeca Penthouse Tries Doubling Its Money...Again!

New, 19 comments

If at first you don't succeed in selling?wait four years and try a 1.75 percent PriceChop? That seems to be the plan for the penthouse at Tribeca's 60 Warren Street, which businessman owner Edward Bazinet has just popped back on the market for $28 million. Last we checked in spring '06, the property was asking $28.5 million, and it looks like it also gave that price a try with no success in the summer of 2007. Bazinet picked up the quadplex for $13.5 million in 2001, and selling for more than double isn't unprecedented?he bought it from a CEO who paid only $6.1 million for it a year earlier. But that was with some renovation, which doesn't seem to be the case this time. Bazinet's apparently a Minnesota businessman who made his fortune selling miniature ceramic houses. Maybe his luck doesn't extend to the big ones?
