Speaking with Bloomberg's James Russell, black-attired architect of mystery Jean Nouvel explains the off-kilter glass skin of his (half-sold, we're told) 100 Eleventh Avenue: "I imagined the building to shimmer... It is like the eye of an insect that can see more than 180 degrees around." He's also working on the redesign of his decapitated Tower Verre next to MoMA, where today he's unveiling his disc-like design for the National Museum of Qatar. Surprise, NYTimes architecture critic Nicolai Ouroussoff loves it already. [Bloomberg; NYT]
