UWS's Record Townhouse Buyer/Child Hater Unmasked

New, 4 comments

After rumors that the likes of Matt Damon and A-Rod were interested in the place, the actual buyer of the gorgeously renovated townhouse at 26 West 76th Street is a bit of a letdown. The Post's Jennifer Gould Keil reports that the new owners are just regular rich people: former Days Inn and Avis Rent-a-Car owner Henry Silverman and his fiancee, Karen Hader, plus their newborn. The Post reports the property sold for $19.3 million (after asking $25 million and then $19.5 million), which is an Upper West Side townhouse record. The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club now has someone address the hate mail to.
