NYC Real Estate Brokers to Star in New Reality Show

New, 18 comments

For years the West Coast has hogged all the glory, or lack thereof, when it comes to reality shows starring brash real estate personalities. Shows like Million Dollar Listing and Flipping Out have introduced America to the cutthroat game of luxury real estate and the quirky characters involved, but, again, not in New York City. The working theory as to why the NYC brokerage community has avoided such shameless fame seeking? The stakes are too high here, the brokers too hush-hush about their clients and the inner workings of their business. Well, forget about all that! Premiering March 17 18 at 9 p.m. on HGTV is "Selling NY", a weekly series that according to a press release will follow "a colorful group of assertive, razor-sharp brokers from two upscale boutique real estate firms." HGTV casted this sucker pretty darn well.

The show will feature Upper East Side firm Gumley Haft Kleier?led by Gold Coast broker doyenne Michelle Kleier and her socialiate/realtor daughters?as well as the CORE Group, the Shaun Osher-led young brokerage that specializes in selling new downtown condos to masters-of-the-universe types. It sounds Manhattan-centric, but Brooklyn will not escape unscathed. According to One Brooklyn Bridge Park's website, the building will be a "feature property" on Selling NY. Will a buyer be seen heading into a showing and then peeling out in a spanking new Audi? We'll just have to wait and see!
