Cagey Vornado boss (and Madoff beach house buyer!) Steve Roth opened up to a Columbia lecture crowd about all sorts of stuff, and the Observer's Eliot Brown was hiding in the back and writing it all down. Roth is still mad about the failed Moynian Station megadevelopment ("Every time you go into Penn Station you should be a little bitter. Spit on the floor."), and he doesn't sound very convinced that the Richard Rogers-designed tower atop the Port Authority (right) is ever going to happen. Also, his mom was pissed at him for taking so long to build the Bloomberg Tower/One Beacon Court. [NYO]
