Broker Loses Lawsuit

Proving there's no easy dollar to be made in this town, a state Supreme Court judge has ruled that brokers shouldn't be allowed to keep commissions when buyers back out of deals. Megadeveloper Extell floated residential broker Sloane Square NYC half its 3% commission on a pair of units sold to one buyer at the Lucida, but when that client never closed, Extell demanded its money back and the broker was like hellz nah. Extell's Gary Barnett can now put that money toward his next sinister plot to control the universe. [Real Deal]
