Should Burg Go Burb?

New, 4 comments

Amid all the hubbub about affordable housing at Williamsburg's New Domino megaproject, a few other concerns are perhaps getting lost. Like the complaint that all the development's parking spaces will make residents too lazy to use public transportation. And, according to Streetsblog, those parking spots will run the developer a tab of $30K-$50K per spot, money that could be freed up for transit projects instead. One suggestion: using the parking spot $$ to provide shuttle buses to the subway, as developers do in Riverdale and the suburbs. It wouldn't be the first hint that Williamsburg's thinking is a little suburban these days. [Streetsblog; previously]
