Renzo Piano's Whitney Museum has been in the cards for a while as the High Line's anchor, but museum bigwigs are actually none too sure about the plan. The museum's board is squabbling about whether it can afford both High Line and UES locations, and whether the MePa branch would make the museum more relevant. Weighty questions! Looks like the Parks Department might be right to start on Plan B. [NYT; previously]
