Battle of the Brooklyn Co-ops

New, 6 comments

Because the Park Slope Food Co-op has gone weeks without annoying anyone, the #1 neighborhood in New York's most ideological grocery store is going after Barney's. The store's general manager feels that the Barney's Co-op store coming to Atlantic Avenue "muddles the very definition of co-op and, in doing so, undermines the 37 years of effort made by the Park Slope Food Coop to essentially brand the idea of cooperative shopping," the Brooklyn Paper reports. It's probably just sour grapes over not being able to fit into skinny jeans. [BK Paper]
